My Valentine

Yesterday, Jeff and I celebrated our second Valentine's Day. The day started out with a double-header and then after the games, Jeff and I met my parents to eat. We had a wonderful dinner with good conversation and a great rest of the night relaxing, opening gifts and eating chocolate! I love Jeff so much and I am so thankful that God gave him to me to be MY husband.

Top 10 reasons I love Jeffrey Andrew Sziksai:

10. He is passionate about what he does.
9. He is honest and loyal.
8. He is caring and selfless.
7. He can make me smile any time :)
6. He is the funniest person I have ever met (We laugh so hard that it hurts).
5. He loves the Lord and always tries to do the right thing.
4. We have so much in common (He even brushes his teeth in the shower).
3. When I am weak, he is strong.
2. He loves me with his whole heart.
1. He is my best friend.

The weekend was great! The Railsplitters won the series against USC-Aiken and USC was ranked 6th in the country. It looks like we are off to a great start!

In other news, Jeff and I have been a little under the weather and I can barely talk (which might be a good thing). We have decided to celebrate our 2nd Valentine's on Friday because our weekend will consist of 3 more baseball games (a double-header on Sat. and one game on Sunday).

Also, I sent our niece, Avery, a Tucan Webkinz and a cute Shrek card and wrapped it in pink Valentine paper. I hope she likes it! Here is a pic of her that Jimmy emailed me today.

This is what it said...

"It was 75 this past weekend so Avery and I decided to clean the garage, power wash, etc....I went inside for 5 minutes and came out and she had set up shop on her own...I was crying..."

It's Officially Baseball Time!

I can't believe we have had no school for the past several days because of snow! Tomorrow has also been cancelled. I decided today that I better take advantage of my time off while I can. Today mostly consisted of lying in my pj's and tonight I've been packing for a road trip! The LMU baseball team are playing in South Carolina and I'm going to support my husband (AKA "the coach"). This is my husband's 6th year as the baseball coach for the Railsplitters and my second as a coach's wife. Jeff stays extremely busy during the season, but he always seems to find a way to make time for me. I guess he should since I'm his biggest fan! So, this weekend will consist of three baseball games, spending down time in between games talking with my in-laws (who will be in attendance), cheering my guts out, taking pics with my new Nikon D40 (Yay!!!), and probably loss of sleep...my father-in-law snores so I'm bringing ear plugs (not kidding...but I still love him)!!! Here is my baseball gear for the season. The team have their gear and I have mine...complete with hand warmers, Railsplitter car magnets, blankets of different thickness, and my trusty boat seat w/cup holder (yes...I said boat seat...my father-in-law, Allen made it for me...it's comfy and it swivels)!!! GO RAILSPLITTERS!!!

Is It Spring Yet?

Okay...so as a school teacher I love winter days for the obvious reasons...SNOW DAYS!!! However, today reminded me so much of spring. Now, I'm kinda in the mood for spring time. On my way home from eating with the fam, I ran my car through a car wash, drove with the windows down (with the heat on low:) and even listened to a little Kenny Chesney. Weather.com says that it's suppose to get cold again tomorrow. I think it's safe to say that we will be going to school at least through the first week of June :( That stinks!!! Well, at least school teachers get a summer break...winter break...fall break...and spring break! Anytime I complain about my job (which isn't too often :) Jeff always reminds me that it's not so bad. I love his optimism :)

I'm posting some pics of Charley playing with his candy cane. If you ever come visit us he will either bring you this candy cane or this weird critter (?) to throw so that he can fetch.

Saturday...Laundry Day

Yes, I love Saturdays. Who doesn't? I usually spend my Saturdays with my honey just relaxing and doing laundry, but he left this morning for the first baseball game of the season (which is tomorrow @ Lander). So when I got up this morning...I mean...afternoon...I did a little cleaning and started laundry. I know this sounds crazy, but I love doing laundry. I guess it's because when I lived by myself I never accumulated enough laundry to have a designated laundry day. Now, Jeff can dirty up enough laundry to at least put in a load every two days, but I save it for our laundry day, which is Saturday. Most moms are probably thinking I am crazy and even I question whether I will enjoy doing laundry when Jeff and I have kids.

Well, the rest of this day is going to look like this...
*watch Braveheart with Charley (laundry during commercials)
*get ready and get carry-out from Old Town Grill and stop by Blockbuster
*take food and a movie to my friend Wendy who is pregnant and on bedrest
*come home and do a little more cleaning (I like to clean at night)
*call Jeff and tell him goodnight and good luck
*read my bible
*bed

Side note:

I am thankful for...

Since Thanksgiving is on Thursday, I thought I would reflect on the things I am most thankful for.

*I am thankful for my relationship with God-He has never failed me!
*I am thankful for my husband-He is my best friend and we have a wonderful marriage.
*I am thankful for my mom-She is me and I am her...we are just alike and that's what makes us great friends...She has always been there for me and continues to show her support.
*I am thankful for my dad-No one compares to my dad...He is a one of a kind...There is nothing he can't do.
*I am thankful for my little brother-Corey and I have an inseparable relationship...It has been awesome to watch him grow up these last few years.
*I am thankful for my extended family-They keep me in check!!!
*I am thankful for my in-laws, brother-in-law, and my niece-They have always made me feel like part of the family.
*I am thankful for my friends and what they mean to me (You know who you are!!!)

Last, but not least...I am thankful for my happiness...God has given Jeff and I so much to be thankful for...We owe it all to Him.

Rest and Relaxation

Jeff and I recently got back from Panama City, FL with my family. I think we counted about 22 family members total!!! We had such a great time. The men played golf every morning and fished with my Dad, as he was the fishing guide. The women slept late, layed out on the beach, and did a little gossiping and shopping. This is about the 6th year the fam has went to the beach together so...I think it's safe to say that it is now a tradition. It was nice to have a break from work and get to spend some quality time with my husband and family.

Ready For Fall

Okay...I usually love the summer weather, but enough already! It is September and so hot! I am so ready for fall weather. There is nothing more refreshing than a fall breeze. I've already put out my fall flag and now I'm just waiting for the Mason's Farm Pumpkin Festival on Sept. 27th to buy some pumpkins and mums to decorate with. I also can't wait until October. The whole Napier clan is going to the beach on the 4th and of course...my birthday is the 16th!!!

Oh yeah...Jeff and I purchased a house lot from my parents here in Ambleside. We hope to start building a house in the next year or so. I'll post pics of the land soon. Well, Jeff just popped us some popcorn...we are going to watch a movie. I love couch time with my hubby :)
