I have spent a lot of time this week thinking about this weekend and what it means to me.
Here are some of my thoughts:
How could someone give up their son...their only son...to suffer a horrible death...just for me? God loved each of us so much that he sent His only son to die on a cross for our sins. He is our Savior and Redeemer. I feel so humbled and blessed to serve this kind of God. A God that not only gave up something very precious, but a God that has been my protector, deliverer, and friend since I decided to live for Him when I was nine years old. He has kept me and sustained me and I owe Him my life. This weekend my thoughts are not just on the thought of His death, but also His resurrection. I know He lives. He lives within my heart, and I can walk and talk with Him each and every day.
One day, I will sit at Jesus's feet and kiss his nail pierced hands and serve Him for eternity. Oh, what a day that will be!
My Easter plans this year are to attend church Sunday morning with my husband and his mother and step-father. Then, we will be meeting all of my family at my aunt and uncle's for Sunday dinner. The rest of the evening will probably be spent spending time with my family :)
